Hi, all. Dropping into your mailboxes a day ahead of my scheduled Friday delivery (on most weeks; forgive me for the occasional irrregularity) to invite you to join me and a panel of superstars for an important conversation on Friday, Oct. 27, at 12 p.m. EST about building a career as an independent journalist. We’ll be sharing strategies on managing time, juggling multiple assignments, fostering relationships to help you land your next assignment, developing creative projects — in my case, books and a musical (!!!) — and more.
Is this framed around journalism? Yes. It is only for journalists? Absolutely not. I think we can all use a little help figuring out how to do more than one thing at once and lessons in how to be resourceful while retaining control of our creative life.
The panel includes me, Cerise Castle and Sarah Carr, and it will be moderated by Jaeah Lee. It has been organized by the Institute for Independent Journalists and sponsored by Marquette University’s O’Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism, which means it comes at no cost to you. Click here to register.
More from me very soon.
With love and purpose, always.
Fernanda.
